School-based physiotherapy is designed to enhance the student’s ability to access and be successful in the learning environment, and their wider community.
PT programmes aim to maximise health, mobility, functional participation, and independence for each student.
Physiotherapists (PTs) develop programmes, liaise with other professionals, and source equipment to facilitate, for example:
sitting, standing and walking skills
muscle strength and tone
breathing and lung function
maintaining alignment and upright positioning against gravity
